Heffernan passes first stage in hopes of qualifying for 124th U.S. Open

Baylor University’s Zach Heffernan advanced to final qualifying for the 124th U.S. Open, which will be held at Pinehurst from June 13-16.

Heffernan, a graduate of Boerne Champion, shot an 8-under 63 to medal and claim one of seven spots that moved on from the local qualifier at Escondido Golf & Lake Club in Horseshoe Bay.
