Boerne, Champion grads ready to walk the stage

Boerne and Champion high school seniors have walked the halls for the final time and are ready to cross the stage and receive their diplomas later this week.

The Boerne Independent School District has announced the valedictorian, salutatorian and the top 10-ranked students for the Class of 2024 for both schools.

Crossing the stage May 23 during Champion’s graduation will be Valedictorian Samantha Weltens and Salutatorian Ava Foster. Both are headed to Texas A&M for their next level of study: Weltens will major in forensic science, while Foster will study biomedical engineering.

During Boerne High’s May 24 graduation ceremony, Valedictorian Aubrey Menz and Salutatorian Owen Kalapaca will lead the Greyhounds across the stage. Menz is headed to the University of Texas in Austin to major in business, while Kalapaca will study geology at the University of Texas-San Antonio.

Champion High School Rounding out the Champion High top 10 are: 3. Abigail Partlow, Texas A&M, business honors.

4. Nicolas Parra, Texas A&M, engineering.

5. Ashlyn Plank, University of Tennessee, supply chain management and applied mathematics.

6. Alexa Champagne, Southern Methodist University, mechanical engineering.

7. Liana Forster, University of Texas at Dallas, computer science.

8. Benjamin Matamoros, Texas A&M, engineering.

9. Seanna Filipe, University of Texas at Austin, sociology.

10. Autumn Stevens, Brigham Young University, education.

Boerne High School Joining Menz and Kalapaca in the Boerne High top 10 are: 3. Lukesh Hornick, University of Texas-Austin, informatics.

4. Emilio Valdes, University of Texas-Austin, engineering.

5. Luke Fox, University of Texas- Austin, biochemistry.

6. Clarissa Muzquiz, Texas A&M, biomedical sciences.

7. Jarrett Ibarra, Georgia Tech, mechanical engineering.

8. Riley Scheidt, Texas A&M, engineering.

9. Natalie Collentine, University of Texas-Austin, advertising.

10. Charlie Stahl, Texas A&M, business.

Both graduation ceremonies will take place at 8 p.m. at Boerne ISD Stadium.
