BHS boys achieve 7-2 win over Austin Achieve

Austin Achieve played the Greyhounds close for a while and Boerne only held a 1-0 lead at halftime, but the Boerne pulled away in the second half and outscored the Polar Bears 6-2 for the 7-2 win.

Austin Achieve played the Greyhounds close for a while and Boerne only held a 1-0 lead at halftime, but the Boerne pulled away in the second half and outscored the Polar Bears 6-2 for the 7-2 win.

The Hounds improved to 21-2-1 overall and will face Pleasanton in the second round in Pleasanton, 7 p.m.

Austin Achieve gave Boerne a little help on Friday and knocked in two own goals to spot the Hounds a couple of goals.

The Greyhounds came up with the other five goals from five different players after Joe Ballenger, Sam Theiss, Bear Kelly, Justin Moore and Jose Martinez all knocked in 1 goal each.

Landon Murphy, Jess Gonzales, Theiss and Adrian Cuervo finished with 1 assist apiece.

Noah LeMaster and Parker Murphy were in goal for the Greyhounds on Friday.
