Greyhounds send Polar Bears into hibernation

The Boerne girls soccer team breezed past the Polar Bears of Austin Achieve Friday night in Marble Falls as part of a doubleheader with the boys team.

The Boerne girls soccer team breezed past the Polar Bears of Austin Achieve Friday night in Marble Falls as part of a doubleheader with the boys team.

BHS won Friday’s firstround playoff match 9-0 and faces Uvalde in the second round on Tuesday. Boerne and Uvalde play at Medina Valley, 7 p.m.

The Lady Hounds improve to 16-3-5 overall.

The Boerne girls scored early and often and five different players found the back of the net on Friday.

Kylie Combs finished with a hat trick and scored 3 goals, while Hannah Bowen and Gigi Hernandez both netted 2 goals each. Madeline Davis and Sophia Harper both knocked in 1 goal apiece.

Regina Hernandez recorded 3 assists, while Avery Ukeiley and Combs had 1 assist each.

It was the third straight shut out by the Greyhounds defense that was led by goalie Kinsley Sawyer.
