Vs. Seguin batter, walk, a wild pitch and another single.

Back-to-back doubles in the bottom of the 5th allowed the Matadors to score a run and cut the lead in half at 6-3, but that’s as close as Seguin would come to catching the Chargers after neither team scored in the final two frames.

The Lobos jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the third, but those would be the only runs of the game for the Kyle Lehman school.

Champion answered with a single run in the bottom of the third after Aaron Basham tripled and scored to make it 2-1, and then the Chargers added 2 more runs in the fourth for the 3-2 lead and held on for the win. Karson Kaiser brought in both runs in the fourth with a double to help his cause.

Kaiser picked up the win on 90 pitches, gave up 5 hits, no earned runs, fanned 3 and didn’t walk a batter.
