Seven Greyhounds named all-district

A total of seven Boerne Greyhound boys basketball players were named all-district as voted upon by the coaches in District 27-4A.

Two of them earned superlative awards after junior Casen Hoegemeyer was named the District MVP and Hank Hendrix was named the Newcomer of the Year, while head coach Kimble McHone was named the Coach of the Year.

Senior Sam Holland, senior Luke Fox and junior Nic Hernandez were voted to the first team, while junior Hutson Hendrix and freshman Noa Sanchez landed on the second team. No Greyhounds were listed as honorable mention.

Boerne High had quite a year and went 12-0 in district to improve its district winning streak to 49 straight. They also claimed their seventh district title in a row and their 12th in the last 15 seasons.

BHS finished the year at 30-6 and defeated Cuero in the first round of the playoffs at Northside Gym, 71-34. The Greyhounds were knocked out in the second round by eventual regional champions Stafford, 66-43, in a game played in Cuero.
