Lady Hounds run rule another district foe

The Boerne High softball team picked up another lopsided district win Friday night at home, this time against Canyon Lake.

The Boerne High softball team picked up another lopsided district win Friday night at home, this time against Canyon Lake.

BHS claimed the 15-0 victory and improves to 3-0 in district and 16-4 overall. The Lady Hounds visit Fredericksburg on Tuesday.

Boerne has won its three district games by a combined score of 43-0 and still hasn’t played a full seven-inning contest in 28-4A.

The Lady Hounds started fast and scored 6 in the first and 7 in the second. After not scoring in the third, Boerne plated 2 more in the fourth to kick in the mercy rule.

BHS finished with 12 hits and was led by Ava Rodriguez who finished with a home run, a double and a single, collected 5 RBI and scored 3 runs.

Ashley Clingman doubled; Brooke Sivek hit 2 singles and scored a run; Heidi Maytum drove in a run and scored twice; Cameron Cooper knocked out 2 singles, drove in a run and scored 3 times and Reese Wilson walked twice and scored a run.

Madison Dorrow picked up an RBI and scored a run; Taryn Madlock singled, drove in a run and plated 2 runs, Ava Nieto knocked out 2 singles, had an RBI and scored a run; Shelby Wright drove in a run and Taylor Wilson singled, scored and pushed in a run.

Dorrow threw 74 pitches and gave up 2 hits, sat down 4 batters and walked 3 in the win.
