Jim Ned knocks Cats out of the playoffs

Comfort’s baseball season came to an end at the hands of Jim Ned in the first round of the 3A playoffs.

The Indians took the first game against the Bobcats on Thursday, 9-2, and then closed it out Friday in Comfort via the run rule, 18-3.

The game was delayed a bit because of lightning in the area but once it resumed, Comfort added a little bit of electricity to the game.

In the sixth, Mason Matt singled with two outs and Micah Nye followed and smacked a 2-run shot out of the park to put the Bobcats on the board.

Nye’s homer made it 5-2 but the Indians answered in the bottom half of the frame with 4 runs to open up a 9-2 lead.

A hit batter, 3 singles, 3 walks and a sac fly helped Jim Ned score its 4 runs.
