The lone Boerne Independent School District incumbent on Saturday’s ballot will be back in his seat when the board meets May 20.
Joining Carlin Friar, the re-elected Place 1 trustee and current board president, will be newcomers Dallas Pipes and Courtney Darter Bruce.
All three candidates won their respective races in decisive fashion. Carlin raked in 60% of the Place 1 early votes and never looked back. He received 1,866 total votes, with challengers Mike Stewart receiving 848 and Candace Affeldt drawing 375.
Pipes won in his first attempt to get on the board. He easily outdistanced opponent Noah Oviedo, 2,120 to 998, which is a 2-to-1 margin (68%-32%). He takes the Place 2 seat left empty when Joe Tidwell declined to run for re-election.
Courtney Darter Bruce joins Pipes as a first-time trustee, beating Thomas Nordstrand 2,602 to 484 (84%-16%). She will assume the Place 3 seat vacated by Jessica Davila, who chose to step away from the board as well.
