Boerne High had eight basketball players receive all-district recognition after their performances during the 2023-24 season.
Senior Averi Aaron was the Offensive MVP of District 27-4A, while senior Abby Smith, junior Jenna Ruede and junior Chloe Donnell were all named to the first team.
Junior Savannah Salinas and junior Meredith Mcleod both landed on the second team, while senior Mickena Randle and freshman Addison Palluch received honorable mention recognition.
Fredericksburg won this year’s district title and the Lady Hounds were second, but they met in the playoffs as expected and this year’s regional title again came down to Boerne and Fredericksburg like it has the three previous seasons as well.
After splitting their district games, BHS and Fred meet in Kingsville for the regional championship and Boerne won their third regional title in four seasons to advance to state.
BHS played Canyon in the state semifinals in the Alamodome. Canyon had a double-digit lead but the Lady Hounds cut the Canyon advantage to a point in the second half, but ultimately fell, 53-39.
Boerne went 10-2 in district and finished the season at 34-5 overall.
