After a long drive, Geneva School of Boerne made short work of the Corpus Christi John Paul II baseball team Friday afternoon.
The Eagles traveled to the sparkling city by the sea, Corpus Christi, and defeated the Centurions, 13-0, in five innings.
Geneva is 17-6 overall and 6-1 in district. They played at Schertz John Paul II Tuesday to close out the regular season.
The Eagles scored in all five innings played Friday and finished with 11 hits in the game. Geneva tallied a run in the first, added 5 in the second, another in the third, 4 more in the fourth and 2 in the fifth to get its 13 runs.
Geneva pitcher Shawn George only allowed one hit in the game, a single in the fourth inning. George didn’t allow a walk or run and struck out 12 in the game on 74 pitches.
Cannon Menn had the only extra base hit for the Eagles with a double and he scored a run and drove in 2 runs, while Rooster Jons singled, walked twice, picked up an RBI and scored once.
Grant Roberson hit 2 singles and pushed in a run and Colton Lutz knocked out 2 singles, collected 3 RBI and scored a run.
George singled, walked and scored a run, Jake Roberson was patient at the plate and took 3 walks and scored twice, Gray Bruner singled, walked and scored 3 runs, Brady Chandler singled, walked, pushed in 2 runs and scored once, Bryce Hanover hit 2 singles, brought in 2 runs, scored 2 runs and walked once, while Jake Patteson crossed home plate once.
