GEORGETOWN – The Boerne High boys and girls soccer teams each had three players named to the All-Tournament Teams at the recent 4A state tourney.
Both Greyhound soccer squad won their state semifinals games to advance to the championship matches where they both earned silver medals after finishing second in the state.
The Boerne girls defeated Salado in the semis, 2-1 in overtime, and lost to Celina in the finals, 1-0.
All-tournament selections for the BHS girls team were junior midfielder Anna Darling, junior defender Kailey Stringfellow and junior goalkeeper Kinsley Sawyer.
On the boys side, the Greyhounds beat Kilgore in the semis, 1-0, and then fell to San Elizario in the finals, 1-0.
All-tournament selections for the Boerne boys were senior midfielder Brett Hettie, senior defender Hudson Vickery and junior goalkeeper Ben Niedecken.
