Geneva baseball teams doubles up FEAST, 6-

3 The Geneva School of Boerne baseball team doubled up FEAST Tuesday in Boerne, 6-3, and improved to 16-6 overall.

Geneva is on the road for its next two district games and played at Corpus Christi John Paul II Friday and visits Schertz John Paul II Tuesday.

The Eagles never trailed in Tuesday’s game but FEAST was never far behind either.

Cannon Menn put Geneva up 1-0 after scoring from third on a Grant Roberson sac fly.

FEAST tied it in the third to make it 1-1, but the Eagles answered in the bottom of the inning after Menn reached on a walk and scored again, this time on a Colton Lutz double, and it was 2-1.

Geneva added 2 more runs in the fourth after Menn singled and Gray Bruner and Caleb Quitadamo, both made it home for the 4-1 advantage.

FEAST cut the lead in half with a single run in the top of the fifth and it was 4-2, but just like they did in the third, the Eagles answered.

In the bottom half of the inning, Jake Roberson singled and Josh Patteson scored. Later, Bruner grounded out to bring in Lutz from third to make it 6-2.

It stayed there until the top of the seventh when the Patriots used a single and a double to push in a run and trim the lead in half again at 6-3 but that’s where the rally ended.

Geneva finished with 9 hits, including a double by Lutz who added 2 singles, scored a run and picked up an RBI, while Jake Roberson hit 2 singles and drove in a run.

Bruner singled, scored and pushed in a run, Quitadamo singled and crossed home plate once, Grant Roberson had an RBI single and Menn walked twice, singled and scored 2 runs.

Jake Roberson went 3.1 innings on the hill and picked up the win after he gave up 2 hits, walked 3 and struck out 8.

Menn closed it out and tossed the final 3.2 frames and yielded 2 hits, 1 walk and sat down 2.
