BISD tennis teams prep for district tourneys

In preparation for their upcoming district tournaments, the varsity tennis teams from Champion and Boerne High have played in tournaments the last two weekends.

District tennis is next weekend for both programs.

Champion hosted the Big 12 Invitational with matches at the Charger and Greyhound courts.

The following weekend, the BISD squads were at the Johnson Jaguar Spring Round-Up at Blossom.

Boerne High

Dustin Davis and Paytin Johndrow teamed up in mixed doubles and took first place in the consolation finals at the Big 12 tourney.

The Greyhounds also played in the Johnson Jaguar Spring Round-Up last weekend in their final tourney of the regular season.

BHS next plays in the district meet April 25-26 and will host the event at the Greyhound courts. The JV tourney is also the following weekend, also in Boerne.

At the Big 12 tourney, Serena Sharma took first in girls singles, Charles Henderson and Greta Claus placed second in mixed doubles and Kayden Cantu and Cris Ramon won the girls doubles consolation title.

At the Jaguar tourney, Isabella Davila captured first in girls singles, while Charles Henderson and Amber Lewis teamed up in mixed doubles and took first place
