Angels defeat Geneva softball squad

The Geneva School of Boerne softball team suffered a 17-6 defeat at the hands of Corpus Christi Incarnate Word.

The Angels won 17-6 in 4.5 innings in Tuesday’s contest held in Corpus Christi.

Geneva slips to 2-11 overall. Both teams scored 3 runs in the first inning but Incarnate Word added 3 more runs in the second for the 6-3 lead.

The Eagles cut into the lead with a run in the third to make it 6-4 but Incarnate Word blew it open with 11 runs in the bottom half of the inning to open up a 17-4 lead.

Geneva didn’t go down without a fight and scored 2 runs in the top of the fourth and cut into the lead a bit at 17-6 but that’s where the rally ended.

Both teams knocked out 11 hits but the Angels were able to push across more runs.

Trinity Cloud had a good day at the plate and went 3 for 3 with 2 RBI, while Madeline Egbert and Emily Coultress both went 2 for 3 at the plate.
