Boerne High hit three home runs in the third inning to take charge of Tuesday’s non-district baseball game with San Antonio Home School.

The Greyhounds scored 6 runs in the frame on its way to a 10-0 victory in four and a half innings. BHS improves to 18-1 and visits Central Catholic Friday for a rematch with the Buttons, a team they edged during spring break, 5-3.

After jumping out to a 1-0 lead in the second inning on Tuesday, the Greyhounds broke it open with its onslaught of homers in the third.

Riley Pechacek hit a 3-run homer in the frame and then Cole Phillips followed and literally hit the lights with his home run. After Andrew Poole walked, it was Tyler Garritano’s turn to go yard with a two-run shot to help open up a 7-0 lead.

In the bottom of the fourth, Cam Johnson scored on a wild pitch and then Pechacek doubled to bring in 2 runs and give Boerne the 10-0 advantage.

After the Wolverines didn’t score in the top of the fifth, the game ended.

Pechacek finished with 5 RBI after his homer and double and he also scored a run. Garritano added a singled to his homer and picked up 2 RBI, while Phillips added a triple to his homer and scored twice.

Kalob Sanchez hit 2 singles and scored 2 runs; Rashawn Galloway knocked out 2 singles; Huston Hendrix hit an RBI single; Connor Shill crossed home plate twice, while Johnson and Poole both scored once.

Poole went all five innings and earned the win on 63 pitches. He only gave up 1 hit, 2 walks and struck out 5.
