Two walks and two singles tied it at 1-1. An Antlers error allowed 2 more runs to score and it was 3-1 but the lead didn’t hold for long after Tivy went ahead for good in the bottom of the fifth with a 6-run inning.
Stormy Rhodes delivered the big hit with a
bases-clearing triple and the Antlers had pulled ahead, 5-3.
They added 2 more runs with a hit batter and a single and it was 7-3, which is where it stayed until the end.
The Chargers only managed one hit in the final three innings and finished with 7 base knocks in the game.
Evan Kuhl doubled, Jordan Ballin singled, Cam Logan walked and scored a run, Sam Miller singled and scored, Gage Goldberg reached three times with 2 singles and a walk, Quinn Grable singled, walked and pushed in a run, Aidan Smith walked and drove in 2 runs and Owen Kuhl singled.
Rhodes had a good night and also picked up the win from the bump to go with his triple. He scattered 7 hits, gave up 2 earned runs, 3 walks and struck out 4 in 5 innings of work.
The Chargers used four different pitchers in the game after Matthew Booth started and left without a decision after 4.1 innings, while Jackson Melanson, AJ Grizzaffi and Jacob Schwope all tossed in the game.
