Champion track and field teams compete at Judson Relays

The Boerne Champion track and field teams recently competed in the Judson Candy Tanner Relays where the Chargers held its own against 5A and 6A schools.

The Boerne Champion track and field teams recently competed in the Judson Candy Tanner Relays where the Chargers held its own against 5A and 6A schools.

Three of the four teams, including both varsity squads, and the JV boys took 1st, while the JV girls were 2nd.

Varsity Girls

The Lady Chargers tallied 228 points to beat 6A Harlan (179.3) by almost 50 points.

Madison Meinke won the 100 in 12.75 and Ava Godoy was 6th in 13.57.

Carsyn Bradley took 2nd in the 200 after clocking in at 27.73 and Reagan

Burkey came in 4th with a 27.94.

Riley Burkey won the 100 with a time of 1:00.74 and Savannah Wayment finished 5th in 1:04.27.

Chachi Gonzales won the 800 with a 2:12.60, Lyle Rideout was 2nd after running a 2:28.31 and Erica Harris placed 5th with a time of 2:41.20.

Gonzales, Kate Williams and Kynley Albright went 1-2-3 in the 1600 after Gonzales posted a 4:57, Williams a 5:26 and Albright a 5:28.

Williams won the 3200 in 11:28, Grace Flores took 2nd in 11:54 and Kamryn Neer was 4th with a 12:30.

Addison Hankins won the 100 hurdles and Ainsley Rosenow took 2nd after Hankins posted a 15.93 and Rosenow clocked in at 16.81, while Hankins also placed 2nd in the 300 hurdles with a time of 45.69 and Rosenow was 6th with a 53.35.

The 4x400 relay of Kate Williams, Lyle Rideout, Riley Burkey and Chachi Gonzales teamed up for 1st with a time of 4:06, the 4x100 of Riley Burkey, Anna Giles, Addison Hankins and Madison Meinke teamed up for 2nd with a 50.48, and the 4x200 of Reagan Burkey, Ava Godoy, Meinke and Carsyn Bradley combined for 4th in 1:51.95.

In the long jump, Anna Giles placed 3rd with a leap of 17-1 and Hailee Goodwin won the shot put with a toss of 31-1, while Hannah Arnall flung the discus 94-4 for 1st and MacKenzie Edwards tossed the discus 77-4 for 3rd.

Riley Burkey cleared 5-0 in the high jump for 2nd, Catherine Knox won the pole vault with a vault with 10-6 and Talia Venner came in 3rd in the vault after she cleared 9-0.

Varsity Boys

The Champion boys won the event with 174.5 points to beat second-place Harlan (114.5) by 60 points.

Arlis Adickes won the 100 after clocking in at 10.93 and Oliver Winkenhower took 3rd in the 200 with a 23.47, while Benjamin Blomqvist was 3rd in the 400 with a 51.31 and Ranger Lewis tied for 5th with a 53.76.

Brock Lewis placed 2nd in the 110 hurdles in 14.70 and Blomqvist took 4th in 15.54, while in the 300 hurdles, Lewis claimed 2nd with a 39.80.

The 4x200 relay of Corbin Mitchell, Alex Rodriguez, Arlis Adickes and Sawyer Bolli teamed up for 1st with a time of 1:31.43, the 4x100 of Bolli, Rodriguez, Adickes and Mitchell finished 3rd with a 43.58, and the 4x400 of Benjamin Blomqvist, Bolli, Brock Lewis and Ranger Lewis combined for 2nd with a 3:28.01.

Brock Lewis went 21-1.25 in the long jump for 2nd, Connor Warzecha and Riley Wampler went 2-3 in the shot put after Warzecha had a toss of 44-7 and Wampler went 42-2.

Warzecha won the discus after a throw of 168-8 and Wampler was 3rd with a 119-1.

Cade Gault and Hayden Brace tied for 5th in the triple jump after they both went 40-3, Benjamin Blomqvist cleared 5-10 in the high jump for 3rd, while Luke Rossi won the pole vault after he cleared 14-0 and Brooks Jones came in 4th in the event after he went 12-0.

Ephraim Tonn-Bourg won both the 100 and 400 wheel chair events with times of 18.65 and 1:13.53.
