Both Boerne High soccer teams were in action Tuesday night in the third round of the 4A playoffs.
The Lady Greyhounds squared off with district foe Wimberley at Smithson Valley and the Boerne boys were at Canyon Lake to take on Marble Falls.
Tuesday’s winners advance to the Region IV-4A tournament this weekend in Corpus Christi.
On the girls side, all four teams in District 26-4A were still alive in the third round and playing each other.
The BHS girls finished 2nd in the district standings and Wimberley was third, while district champion Davenport was playing fourth-place Canyon Lake on the other side of the bracket Tuesday.
The Boerne girls have defeated Marble Falls and La Vernia through the first two round.
The district champ Boerne boys are the lone team standing in 26-4A on the boys side.
BHS squared off with Marble Falls in a battle of state-ranked teams Tuesday. The Hounds are No. 2 and the Mustangs are No. 10, according to the MaxPreps poll.
So far in the playoffs, the Greyhounds have defeated Lago Vista and Memorial in the first two rounds, 4-0 and 3-0 and is undefeated at 19-0 entering Tuesday’s match.
Neither Greyhound team has surrendered a goal in the playoffs through two rounds. The Lady Hounds beat Marble Falls 2-0 and La Vernia 5-0.
