The Geneva School of Boerne softball team played Holy Cross and Austin Veritas and dropped both games.
Geneva slips to 1-9 overall and doesn’t play again until April 2 when they play Corpus Christi John Paul II.
Vs. Holy Cross
The Eagles managed 3 hits in the game but couldn’t manufacture a run.
Holy Cross finished with 7 hits and scored a run in the first and added 4 more in the second for the 5-0 lead.
The Knights plated another run in the third and it was 6-0. After neither team scored in the fourth, the Lady Knights closed it out with 4 runs in the bottom of the fifth to kick in the mercy rule.
Vs. Austin Veritas
The Eagles had a good day at the plate but it wasn’t enough after they fell to the Austin school, 15-8.
Hits were pretty even with Veritas recording 9 hits and Geneva 8.
Maegan Riebel went 2 for 2 with a solo home run in the third inning, while Kate Friesenhahn finished 3 for 4 at the plate with 2 RBI and Madeline Egbert was 2 for 3 at the plate and picked up an RBI.
