MARCH 30

INTRO TO BIRD-WATCHING: This intro class meets from 9 a.m. to noon at Cibolo Nature Center, 140 City Park Road in Boerne. Enhance your birding skills, learn bird categorization and recognize common birds. Gain insights on observation and essential tools for fieldwork. Bring binoculars and dress appropriately: long pants, dull colors, walking shoes and a hat. The class is intended for adults only.

EASTER STORYTIME EXTRAVAGANZA at Herff Farmers Market farmhouse, 33 Herff Road in Boerne, beginning at 10:30 a.m. Prepare to be whisked away into a world of whimsy and wonder as a delightful array of holiday-themed tales, tunes, crafts, and snacks are unveiled. A thrilling mini-egg hunt awaits.

MARCH 31

EASTER CELEBRATION SERVICES with Cibolo Creek Community Church. The first service, held at 7 a.m., will take place at the Fair Oaks Ranch Country Club, 7900 Fair Oaks Parkway in Fair Oaks Ranch. Services at 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. will be held at Cibolo Creek Community Church, 30395 Ralph Fair Road. KidsCreek will be available at these services. For details: [email protected].

MAIN PLAZA EASTER in downtown Boerne with Currey Creek Church. Coffee and donuts will be served beginning at 9 a.m., with the Easter service beginning at 9:30 a.m.

EASTER BRUNCH ACTIVITIES at Tapatio Springs Resort for the annual Easter brunch experience, including music by Jaime Varela, an Easter egg hunt, lawn games, petting zoo and a special guest appearance by the Easter bunny. $75 per adult, $30 per child under 12, free admission under 3. GREATER BOERNE CHAMBER of Commerce will hold ribbon-cutting ceremonies: at 11:30 a.m. for Visiting Angels, 614 Frey St., Ste 100, to celebrate the home care company’s new location; and at 1:30 p.m. for Andra Wisian, 319 Ammann Road, to celebrate her contributions to conversation efforts in South Texas.

APRIL 4

THE BOERNE CHAMBER of Commerce will hold ribbon-cutting ceremonies: at 11:30 a.m. for Gotcha Covered of NW San Antonio and Boerne, in the chamber boardroom at 121 S. Main St.; and at 1:30 p.m. for Sleep Wright Mattresses at its location, 25296 W. I-10 Frontage Road.

APRIL 5

TOY STORY WILL take you “to infinity and beyond!” at Movie in the Park this weekend. Starting at 7 p.m., these free family-friendly screenings are a great time for everyone. The movie starts at sundown. Bring your blankets, chairs and snacks, and enjoy some free entertainment before the movie.

CIBOLO NATURE CENTER’S night hike for adults runs 7:30-9 p.m. Expect to spend time without flashlights in hopes of viewing nocturnal wildlife. The cost is $15 per adult. Mature teenagers are welcome to join.

APRIL 6

ITALIAN MOTOR GATHERING is a two-day event for participating motorists, running 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Main Plaza in downtown Boerne. This event is open to all Italian motoring marques and is free for spectators at the show. 

ANTIQUE TRACTORS COMPETE to pull the heaviest weight the farthest at the Spring Antique Tractor Pull from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the AgriCultural Museum and Arts Center, 102 City Park Road in Boerne. This is a great family event for all ages. Shop from artisans and vendors, see the blacksmith in action and listen to live bluegrass on the pioneer porch. Lawn chairs, blankets and shade tents are welcome.

BLACK RIFLE COFFEE Company, 101 S. Main St. in Boerne, and its neighbors are throwing an old-fashioned block party beginning at 6 p.m. Enjoy live music, great food and drink, as well as a cool car show.

APRIL 13

CIBOLO CREEK ELEMENTARY is hosting its first-ever Fiesta 5K and Fun Run at the school, 300 Herff Ranch Blvd. in Boerne. Fun Run starts out at 7:45 a.m.; the 5K starts at 8 a.m. First 300 participants registered are guaranteed T-shirts and medals. The event is also open to sponsors to support the local community.
