CATS STUFF BUFFS IN DISTRICT OPENER

COMFORT — The Bobcat baseball team played well in Tuesday’s district opener at against Florence.

Comfort run-ruled the Buffs in five innings, 12-2. Bobcats are having a year and are 12-3 overall and 1-0 in district.

The Cats hosted Blanco Friday and play at Ingram Monday. Comfort came out of the gate swinging and plated 6 runs in the inning. Florence answered single runs in the second and make it 6-2, but the Cats final say with 3 runs in fourth on a Micah Nye bases clearing double and added 3 more in the fifth to kick in the mercy rule.

Zach Jones pitched well for the Bobcats and scattered 3 hits, only gave up 1 earned run, didn’t walk a batter and struck out 4.

Comfort finished with 10 hits in the game including a triple from Tucker Rust, who also doubled and scored 2 runs.

Nye cleared the bases with his double to pick up his 3 RBIs and he also walked once and scored a run, while Mason West hit 2 singles and scored 2 runs.

Brooks Davis knocked out 2 singles, picked up an RBI and scored a run, Mason Matt singled and drove in 3 runs, Luke Bohnert singled, walked, picked up an RBI and scored a run, while Noah Bohnert also singled, walked, picked up an RBI and scored a run.
