The Boerne High soccer teams closed out district action Tuesday and both picked up wins against Wimberley.
Next up for both teams is the postseason that starts this week with a doubleheader at Dripping Springs on Monday.
The girls tangle with Marble Falls, 6 p.m., and the boys take on Lago Vista, 8 p.m.
Varsity Girls
The BHS girls earned at least a share of the district title after they finished tied atop the 26-4A standings with Davenport, both winners on Tuesday.
Boerne defeated the Texans, 2-0, and the Wolves caged Canyon Lake, 4-0.
Both Boerne (17-1-3 overall) and Davenport end district play at 7-1-2 in district but the Wolves take the No. 1 seed since they own the tiebreaker over the Greyhounds with a win and a tie in league play against the Lady Greyhounds.
Boerne has won two of the last three district titles outright and shares this one, so that makes it three out of the last four.
In the last 11 years, the Boerne girls have either won or shared a district title 10 times.
Tuesday’s match with the Texans was tied 0-0 at halftime, but two second-half goals put it away for BHS.
Bella Pettet broke the ice with a goal, while Hailey Stringfellow knocked in an insurance goal on an indirect kick inside the box.
Varsity Boys
The Boerne boys took their district winning streak to 47 straight victories in league play with Tuesday’s 3-1 win over the Texans.
BHS ends district play with a 10-0 mark and is still undefeated this year at 17-0.
In Tuesday’s match, Felix Theiss scored a goal on the Caleb Benchoff assist. Brett Hettie netted a goal on the Elian Arreola assist and then Hudson Stevens closed out the Boerne scoring with an unassisted goal.
