The Boerne High softball team did most of its damage early last Friday against Bandera, scoring 6 runs in the first two innings on its way to a 9-1 win over the Lady Bulldogs.

Boerne is 1-0 in district and 12-11-1 overall. They visited Davenport Tuesday and are home Friday to host Canyon Lake.

In the first frame, Riley Partin doubled and drove in Boerne’s first run. Lizzy Thornton singled to bring in Partin and the lead was 2-0.

Bandera was able to get on the board in the third with an unearned run and the lead was trimmed to 6-1, but Boerne answered with single runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth to pull away.

Taylor Wilson scored Boerne’s run in the bottom of the fourth after she singled, moved to second on the throw, stole third and then made it home on a Krause ground out and it was 7-1.

In the fifth, Cerissa Nasis tripled to bring in a run and the Lady Hounds were up 8-1.

Wilson added Boerne’s final run in the bottom of the sixth after she reached first, stole second and then scored on a Krause single to make it 9-1.

There were no outs when Wilson scored and two more runs would have ended it but the Bulldogs got out of the inning with three straight outs to send it to the seventh.

Boerne made short work of Bandera in the top of the seventh frame after they turned a double play with one out to end it.

The Lady Hounds knocked out 9 hits after Cerissa Nasis tripled and singled, drove in a run and scored once, Riley Partin hit 2 doubles, picked up 2 RBI and scored once and Breanna Krause singled, drove in 2 runs and scored twice.
