MARCH 21

VISIT WILD WEST at Kerrville’s Museum of Western Art, which is dedicated to preserving the myth of the American frontier and the works of some of the country’s finest cowboy artists, through Western paintings, sculptures, drawings and artifacts. Group meets at the Heath Library at 9 a.m. to carpool; or meet at 10 a.m. in the museum in Kerrville, 1550 Bandera Highway in Kerrville. Dutch treat lunch option to follow tour. GREATER BOERNE CHAMBER of Commerce will hold ribbon-cuttings at: 11:30 a.m. for Roundtable Wellness in the chamber boardroom, 121 S. Main St.; and 1:30 p.m. for Apache Rifleworks, 101 S. Main St. to celebrate their new Main Street location.

KENDALL COUNTY RETIRED Teacher’s Association’s rescheduled monthly luncheon begins at 11:45 a.m. at Cypress Creek, 408 TX-27. Another social gathering follows at 1:30 p.m. with Kendall County AgriLife’s Steven Zoeller at Comfort Library, 701 High St. 

CORKS FOR COMPASSION, presented by Richter Boerne and Sysco, gets under way at 6 p.m. at the Richter Cork and Keg Studio, 153 S. Main St. Enjoy over 15 wine tastings, hearty appetizers and a silent auction. The event benefits the American Red Cross serving the Hill Country. COMMUNITY GARAGE SALE is slated for 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Kendall County Fair Grounds. The 11th annual event will feature two halls plus outside vendors selling their garage sale items. Food/drink concessions will be available; free admission. 

FRIENDS OF GUADALUPE River State Park will lead a rare tour of the Doeppenschmidt Weidner Ranch in Honey Creek State Natural Area. Explore the ranch site of the earliest settlers, learn about ranching in the early-mid 20th century, visit the grave of Jacob Doeppenschmidt (d. 1872) and meet some of the Weidner descendants. $20 for Friends members, $30 for non-members. EASTER EGG HUNT at the Boerne City Lake Park from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Children are welcome to the 18th annual event, sponsored by The Boerne Police Officers Association and the city’s Parks and Recreation Department. Special appearance by the Easter Bunny. 

CIBOLO MASTER QUILTERS Guild will display their beautiful quilts and demonstrate the art of quilting for guests at the Kuhlmann-King House, 402 E. Blanco Road from noon to 3 p.m. The museum buildings will also be open for tours. 

WILD WEST ROUNDUP: The Wild West History Association’s regional roundup begins at 12:30 p.m. at the Heath Public Library, 451 N. Main St. Presentations are focused on weaponry used by lawmen and local lawman, Wyatt Earp contemporary and Wells Fargo Detective Fred Dodge. For details, email: [email protected]

COMMUNITY EASTER EGG hunt at the YMCA, 820 Adler Road, is free to all and is scheduled for 6-7:30 p.m. An evening of crafts, outdoor games, egg hunt, pictures with Easter Bunny and more. Registration is open online, or at the YMCA welcome desk. 

‘ROCK ON GALA’ is a fundraising event benefiting the Boerne Education Foundation. It gets under way at 7 p.m. at the Kendall County Youth Agriculture and Equestrian Center, 648 FM 289 in Comfort. BOERNE POLICE FOUNDATION is hosting its first-ever golf tournament fundraiser. “BORDER SECURITY CRISIS in Texas” dinner and speaker set for 6 p.m. at The Center, formerly Kronkosky Place, 17 Old San Antonio Road in Boerne. 63rd Judicial District Attorney Suzanne West, whose district covers three counties along 150 miles of border, will speak on human smuggling, narcotics and sex trafficking crossing the border. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.; registration is $25 for the dinner and speaker; seating may be limited. Sponsored by the Kendall County Republicans Club.

FAMILY FREE DAY at Kerrville’s Museum of Western Art from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Enjoy the newest exhibit, our Journey West Children’s Gallery, western art, artifacts and the award-winning museum store. From 1-3 p.m., attendees will be making string art. Call the museum at 830-896-2553 for details.

APRIL 13

CIBOLO CREEK ELEMENTARY is hosting its first-ever Fiesta 5K and Fun Run. The non-competitive event is about promoting an active lifestyle while having a great time.
