Charger track team at Ranger Relays

The Chargers track and field teams were at the Smithson Valley Ranger Relays and also at the Somerset meet before that.

Champion was at Alamo Heights this week for another meet before taking some time off.

Ranger Relay Results (Top 6) Varsity Boys

The Champion boys team placed 4th with 86.5 points.

Zachary Garcia placed 6th in the 100 dash in 11.58, Jamarri Bowie finished 4th in the 200 in 23.21 and Landon Heckman was 6th in the 200 at 23.36.

Luis Tovar clocked in at 1:59.11 for 3rd in the 800 and Caleb Dehart was 6th in 2:00.

Tovar also came in 3rd in the 1600 with a time of 4:36 and Luke Grametbauer turned in a 10:17 in the 3200 for 5th.

The Champion 4x100 relay came in 3rd after combining for a time of 42.81, the 4x200 was 4th in 1:31 and the 4x400 finished 5th with a time of 3:38.

Hayden Brace won the long jump with a leap of 21-01 and Brace also captured 1st in the triple jump with a measurement of 44-09, while Corbin Buchanan went 5-8 in the high jump to tie for 5th.

Riley Wampler won the shot put with a throw of 51-00 and Wampler also took 3rd in the discus with a toss of 161-09, while Nico Lopez finished 4th in the shot with a throw of 46-03.

Varsity Girls

The Lady Chargers finished 5th with 64 points at the meet.

Madison Meinke came in 4th in the 100 dash after posting a time of 13.05, Emma Rice placed 4th in the 800 with a 2:22, Kynley Albright came in 2nd in the 1600 after she turned in a 5:26 and Luciana Zazueta Ibarra was 6th with a time of 5:39. Zazueta Ibarra also finished 5th in the 3200 after running a time of 12:05.

The Chargers 4x100 team combined for a time of 50.29 for 5th, the 4x200 was 5th in 1:51 and the 4x400 was also 5th with a time of 4:24.

Lauren Bell finished 3rd in the long jump with a leap of 16-03, Grace Mondini was 6th in the triple jump after she went 34-3 and Peyton placed 3rd in the pole vault when she cleared 11-0.

Cameron Wampler took 2nd in the discus with a toss of 113-03 and Gailee Goodwin was 5th in 103-00. Goodwin also came in 2nd in the shot put with a throw of 33-08 and Lorena Barreiro-Bidot finished 5th in the shot with a heave of 31-01.
