The 12th annual Boerne Art Waddle May 25-26 showcases an outside art market and will feature a field of fine artists and craft artisans.

Live music and art demonstrations will set the mood for Waddlers for the Memorial Day weekend event in downtown Boerne, affectionately known to locals as the Hill Country Mile.

Along with individual artists and artisan booths, community partners will join in the fun and informative weekend event.

Hill Country Council for the Arts announces its “call for artists” for this outdoor juried art exhibit featuring both fine and applied arts.

The Boerne Art Waddle offers an excellent opportunity to introduce yourself to the Hill Country community and provides an opportunity for artists to share ideas and experiences with other artists.

Proceeds from the Waddle benefit HCCA and the Cibolo Center for Conservation Summer Art scholarships. For details and to apply go to: www.BoerneArtWaddle.com.

The featured artist for the Art Waddle is Susan Baker, whose representative fiber artwork pays tribute to some of the reasons we love our community.

In Baker’s words, “Is there anything more amazing than longhorn cattle? I just love them. And bluebonnets. And a beautiful Texas afternoon in the Hill Country.”

An art poster will be created for the event, featuring an original Baker fiber artwork, printed in a limited edition of 100, and available to purchase at the Memorial Day weekend event.

The art poster and original fiber artwork will be unveiled May 24 at a “Meet the Artists” reception. However, if you simply cannot wait to experience Baker’s creations, her work can be viewed at Carriage House Gallery in Boerne.
