Boerne High hosted the second of two BISD Relays, Feb. 15, and Charger Elizabeth Leachman improved on her national record with a time of 9:43.74 in the 3200.
The Greyhounds were at the Somerset Relays last week, while the Chargers were at Canyon Lake.
Varsity Boys (Top 6 earn points)
BHS’s Ryder Dauphin was 4th in the 100 in 11.36 and Landon Heckman from Champion was 6th in 11.45.
Charger Jamarri Bowie came in 6th in the 200 in 23.41, Boerne’s Barrett Crofut was 2nd in the 800 in 1:59 and Charger Caleb Dehart placed 5th with a 2:02.76.
Luis Tovar of CHS won the 1600 with a 4:30 and teammates Charlie Houck was 5th in 4:41, while Crofut of BHS was 2nd in 4:36 and Aaron Garcia posted a 4:43 for 6th.
Houck won the 3200 in 9:54, while Boerne’s Garcia was 3rd in 10:08 and Carsten Bain came in 4th in 10:10.
McCoy Bruce placed 3rd in the 110 hurdles in 16.37 and was 6th in the 300 hurdles with a 42.73.
The BHS boys 4x100 relay was 4th in 43.56 and the Charger relays were 5th with a 43.75. Champion also came in 2nd in the 4x400 after posting a 3:31.19.
Riley Wampler of Champion won the shot put with a toss of 49-10 and Nico Lopez tied BHS’s Logan Schram for 5th after both chucked it 45-4, while Keagan Fischer of Boerne was 7th in 44-8.
Wampler took 2nd in the discus with a throw of 149-5 and Fischer was 3rd in 1402, while Lopez of Champion was 6th at 130-5.
Greyhound Nick Kenyon placed 3rd in the high jump after he cleared 5-10 and Charger Landon Kolacny was 2nd at 14-6.
Champion’s Joshua Hierholzer finished 2nd in the long jump with a leap of 21-0.5 and teammate Hayden Brace was 5th in 20-3, while BHS’s Michael Igbo placed 6th at 20-3.
Brace won the triple jump with a measurement of 44-0.50 and Hierholzer came in 3rd at 41-11.25.
Varsity Girls
Champion’s Madison Meinke took 2nd in the 100 dash after posting a 13.01, Savannah Seibert of BHS came in 3rd in the 400 meters in 1:01.73.
Charger Elizabeth Leachman won the 800 in 2:14, and her teammate Emma Rice was 4th in 2:27, while BHS’s Mary Marino placed 5th in 2:30.
Kynley Albright of Champion won the 1600 in 5:18 and Rice was 6th in 5:36, while Boerne’s Eleanor Davis finished 4th in 5:33. Leachman set a new national mark in the 3200 at 9:43, while her teammates Kynley Albright was 3rd in 11:48 and Luciana Zazueta Ibarra was 6th in 12:24 and BHS’s Davis placed 4th at 11:51.
Charger Ella Bachman placed 3rd in the 100 hurdles with a 15.9 and BHS’s Prisca Igbo placed 5th in 17.50.
Igbo also earned points in the 300 hurdles after she finished 2nd with a 48.87, while Bachman from CHS was 4th in 51.87.
The Champion 4x100 finished 5th in 51.22 and the BHS girls were 6th in 51.91. The Chargers were 5th in the 4x200 at 1:49, while Champion came in 5th in the 4x400 with a time of 4:16 and BHS was 6th in 4:17.
Ella Schram of BHS took 5th in the shot put with a toss of 34-0 and Hailee Goodwin of CHS placed 6th in 33-11.75.
Champion’s Cameron Wampler threw the discus 114-5 for 2nd, her teammates Lorena Barreiro-Bidot finished 3rd in 91-4 and Goodwin came in 6th at 85-9.
Greyhound Kendall Lemm won the high jump after she cleared 5-6 and her teammates Prisco Igbo came in 3rd at 4-10, while Champion’s Erin Martin placed 6th at 4-10.
Chargers Peyton Smith and Vivian Cardenas went 2-3 in the pole vault after Smith vaulted 11-0 and Cardenas cleared 8-6. Boerne’s Samantha Sardo and Landon Wade were 5th and 6th in the event after both went 7-6.
BHS’s Savannah Seibert was 6th in the long jump with a distance of 16-9 and Grace Mondini of Champion was 3rd in the triple jump with a measurement of 33-5.5.
