Bobcat baseball records 4-0 mark Three Rivers tourney

The Comfort High baseball team went 4-0 at the Three Rivers Tournament and remained unbeaten this year at 5-0.

Comfort was scheduled to visit Fredericksburg Tuesday and then play in the Sonora Tournament this weekend.

The Bobcats defeated Nixon- Smiley, 9-1, behind 11 hits. Comfort came out strong with 6 in the first and 3 more in the third.

Luke Bohnert tripled and singled and scored twice. Micah Nye earned the win.

Up next, the Bobcats run ruled Runge, 13-3, behind a dozen hits.

The Yellowjackets stung first with 3 in the top of the first, but Comfort answered with 5 in the bottom half of the inning and another 8 runs in the second.

Caleb Van Geffen and Cade Woerner both homered, Mason West and Tucker Rust tripled, while Luke Bohnert and Rust doubled.

Up next the Bobcats took a close one over Falls City, 4-3, and rallied to win with 3 runs in the bottom of the fifth.

Luke Bohnert, Mason Matt and Tucker Rust all doubled.

Zach Jones and Mason Matter both pitched, with Matter getting the win.

Comfort closed it out with an 8-2 victory over host Three Rivers. Tucker Rust went 4 innings and didn’t give up a hit or a walk and struck out 3.

CHS had 10 hits, with 2 each from Mason West, Luke Bohnert and Izzy Lopez. West and Lopez scored twice.
