MixHaus is an art and gathering space “where art connects, and gatherings are crafted with intention.”
Explore Kendall County’s newest eclectic collection of creatives and their art at MixHaus Gallery now open in Comfort, Texas.
As a contemporary art gallery, MixHaus spotlights mixed media and cross-discipline artists and celebrates the story behind the artist’s process.
Space is available to rent for intimate meetings, retreats and events “whose purpose is authentic connection, creative transformation and collaboration.”
It is the stated vision of Cara Hines, artist and managing principal and founder, that Comfort be a destination for artists of various disciplines, as well as those organizations and groups of individuals who value what these creative visionaries offer in terms of artistic expression, shared story and Freethinking, “freidenkers” spirit.
Spring Mix is the premiere exhibition for MixHaus Gallery, where you will find a celebration of color, pattern, form, line, texture and materiality.
The Spring Mix opening reception is March 9 from 2-6 p.m. Featured artists for the exhibition are Bobbie Austin, Louisiana; Stephanie Robison, California; Scott Simons, Austin, Blanco and Santa Fe.
Various elements of time are present: the ancient materials and processes of carved stone and felted wool manipulated by Robison into whimsical forms; the colorful, geometric patterns painted or sewn by Austin on previously used surfaces such as, vintage, hand-embroidered tea towels, old maps, or surveyors’ field books.

All these works are object-like: Robison’s meticulous 3-dimensional forms, Austin’s hand-built wood frames specific to each piece, and Simons’ large wood panels with impasto texture.
