SAN ANTONIO – The Boerne High girls ended their swim season on a high note after the Lady Greyhounds earned a silver medal in a relay event and returned to Boerne with the 4A third-place team trophy.
The BHS boys had a great year as well and finished 7th in the state in the final 4A standings.
Boerne only had two seniors on the girls team and one of those seniors, Brenna McCarty said earning a state medal and finishing third as a team is the highlight of her Greyhound swimming career.
“This has to take the cake, this is definitely my best memory,” she said. “It’s incredible, we’ve had such a small team over the last few years and this has grown and blossomed. It’s awesome to see. We started out with six girls my freshman year and now we’re up to 16, so it’s cool to see the growth and the effort that everyone puts in.”
The other senior, Ella Parsons, agreed that the team has come a long way in their time there and hopes it continues as Boerne moves up to 5A.
“It’s incredible, the progress we’ve made as a team,” she said. “I think we’ve set the tone very well this season and I’m really happy to see the impact we’ve made.” RESULTS Varsity Girls
