BOERNE — The Geneva School of Boerne 2022-2023 yearbook, The Boardwalk, has been nominated for a Star Award from the University Interscholastic League Press Conference. Geneva has received the Award of Distinguished Merit seven times, had a staff member named in the top 25 for Tops in Texas in 2020, received the Bronze Star in 2021 and had 86 individual achievement awards, 31 of which were first place.

This nomination marks Geneva’s second Star Award nomination. The Boardwalk has competed annually in UIL/ILPC’s journalism contests since 2015.

“I am so excited for our staff to receive this acknowledgement of the countless hours spent documenting the 20222023 school year in such an exciting and creative way,” 2022-2023 Yearbook Adviser Christina Hammock said. “Since most schools have a yearbook, the pool of competitors we are up against is quite large and it is amazing to get this recognition from UIL as a small, private K-12 school,” Hammock said.
