Boerne High stayed perfect in boys soccer after the Greyhounds won a tough one last Friday on the road.
BHS edged Davenport 1-0 in a district match to stay unbeaten this year. The Greyhounds are 9-0 overall and 2-0 in district.
They hosted Bandera Monday at Champion and visit Canyon Lake Friday.
Friday’s match looked like it might be headed to a 0-0 draw but the Greyhounds struck with 10 minutes left on the clock after several near-misses by the Wolves.
Justin Bain scored the only goal of the match on the Liam Griffiths assist.
BHS coach Michael Strong said his team was fortunate to win Friday.
“We controlled the game for the most part but they had the better chances,” said Strong, who noted that Davenport hit the goalpost four times on shot attempts in the match.
Also, Greyhound goalie Ben Neidecken came up with a save on a Wolves penalty kick.
