Geneva School of Boerne wrapped up this year’s district title in girls basketball, its fourth straight.

The Eagles hosted Incarnate Word Academy Friday in Boerne and defeated the Angels, 58-51.

Not only is it the Geneva girls fourth straight district championship but all four have come with perfect league records.

The Eagles ended district play at 11-0 this year and are 26-3 overall as they enter the playoffs.

It was a close game Friday night before a packed house and Geneva leaned on its 1-2 punch of Maegan Riebel and Kyra Petty.

The dynamic duo tallied 49 of the team’s 58 points. Riebel and Petty were good from 2-point range and went 14 for 27 combined for better than 50 percent.

They also made two 3-pointers each, the only 3s of the game for the Eagles.

Riebel made it a double-double with 10 rebounds to go with 4 steals and 3 assists. Petty also contributed 6 rebounds and 4 steals.

Morgan Howard chipped in 5 points and Madeline Egbert finished with 4 points to round out Geneva’s scoring.
