The Comfort boys traveled to Brady last Friday and the Bobcats suffered an 8-point loss to the Bulldogs.
With the loss the Bobcats fall to 5-4 in District 5-3A and stand at 19-12 overall. They hosted Llano Tuesday in the regular-season finale.
Last Friday’s game had plenty of momentum swings with the final one going Brady’s way.
The Bobcats were up 16-12 after one quarter but the Bulldogs tied it by halftime at 27-27 after they took the second period, 15-11.
Comfort again surged ahead by winning the third, 18-14, and held a 45-41 lead going into the fourth quarter but Brady took the final momentum swing after a strong final stanza.
The Bulldogs outscored the Bobcats 21-9 to get the win.
Comfort shot it well from 2-point range after they were 20 for 32 for 62.5% but Brady countered that with an 11 for 21 showing from the 3-point line for 52%.
The Bulldogs also went to the free-throw line 14 times, compared to 5 just times for Comfort.
Jovani Zapata led the Cats with 20 points and Joel Lozano added 13 for two in double figures. Jaydin Steward tallied 8, Santos Hernandez had 6, Jared Valadez netted 3, while Jackson Dear and Terick Rodriguez both chipped in with 2.
Steward had a teamhigh 7 rebounds, Zapata dished out 4 assists, Valadez recorded 3 assists and Lozano came up with 4 steals.
