Comfort was faced with a win-and-you’re-in situation as they traveled to Ingram Tuesday night to close out district play.
Tuesday’s winner claimed the fourth and final spot up for grabs in the girls District 5-3A standings since both entered with 3-6 marks in league play.
It was the Lady Warriors that punched their ticket to the postseason party after they defeated the Deer in a low-scoring game, 30-17.
The Deer end the season with a 3-7 district record, while Ingram is 4-6. Comfort concludes the year at 9-21 overall.
Points were hard to come by Tuesday night and only one team hit double figures in any of the four quarters.
Ingram was leading 6-2 after one and then took the second period, 6-4, to double up the Deer at halftime, 12-6.
Both teams dropped in 5 in the third and the Warriors were up 17-11. Ingram pulled away in the final stanza after they knocked in 13, while Comfort had its best quarter of the night in the fourth but only managed 6 points.
Rachel Adams led the Deer with 10 points, Katie Haffner added 5 and Jael Hernandez scored 2.
Tindall Ahrens grabbed 7 rebounds, Rachel Adams and Hernandez came up with 2 steals each and Haffner and Hernandez dished out 2 assists each.
Katie Haffner is the only senior on this year’s squad.
