Boerne Champion played two matches in two days this weekend.
The Chargers were at Pieper Tuesday and before that, Champion restarted its match with Kerrville Tivy. The Tivy match started Friday but was restarted Monday.
Champion split the two matches and is 7-2-1 overall and 2-2-1 in district.
VS. KERRVILLE TIVY
The Boerne Champion boys received a mulligan in their match with Kerrville Tivy.
Champion was trailing 3-2 against the Antlers last Friday but the match was stopped just 20 minutes in because of the weather.
Since they didn’t reach halftime, the match was restarted Monday and it was a different story.
Instead of allowing three goals in 20 minutes to Tivy, the Champion defense buckled down and shutout the Antlers, 3-0.
Bentley McCool tallied 2 goals against Kerrville and Jones Ferguson had the other goal.
VS. PIEPER
The Chargers couldn’t get their offense going during Tuesday’s road match at Pieper and fell to the Warriors, 2-0. Champion was at home Friday to play Smithson Valley and visits Seguin Tuesday.
