Boerne Champion picked up a district road win Tuesday night in boys basketball at Seguin.

The Chargers shot it well from the outside and hit a dozen 3-pointers to defeat the Matadors, 66-51.

Champion is 28-4 overall and 11-1 in district. They’ll close out the regular season with two tough ones — Friday at Wagner and Tuesday at home vs. Veterans Memorial.

The Chargers have already clinched a playoff spot and they’ll either be the No. 1 or 2 seed heading into the postseason depending on what happens in the final two games.

Veterans Memorial is undefeated in league play at 12-0 and the Chargers are chasing them for the top seed.

Quinn Grable was feeling it from the outside and went 7 for 11 from the 3-point line on his way to 30 points. Charlie Georgelos also knocked down some long-range shots and went 3 for 6 from the 3-point line to tally 14 points.

Mason Wyatt didn’t hit a 3 but still finished with 10 points, Baeden Burdick netted 7 and hit a 3, Briggs Jones also nailed a 3 and tallied 5 points.

Jones led the team on the boards with 8 rebounds and dished out 4 assists, while Wyatt recorded a team-high 8 assists.
