The Comfort boys traveled to Ingram Tuesday night and picked up a big road win over the Warriors, 50-47.
With the victory, the Cats improved to 5-3 in District 5-3A play and 19-11 overall. They traveled to Brady on Friday.
Tuesday’s contest was tight throughout with Ingram leading 13-9 at the end of one. Comfort cut into the lead in the second after they took the quarter, 17-14, and the Warriors were only up by a point at halftime, 27-26.
Both teams were consistent in the second half and it was a duplicate third and fourth quarters after the Bobcats won the third, 12-10, to take a one-point lead into the fourth. It was the same thing in the final stanza and Comfort again claimed the quarter, 12-10, to seal the victory.
Santos Hernandez and Joel Lozano paced the Bobcats after they went 11 for 16 from the field combined.
Hernandez was 6 for 9 and tallied 15 points and Lozano finished 5 for 7 for 13 points. Jared Valadez netted 7, Jovani Zapata had 6, Jaydin Steward chipped in with 5, while Terick Rodriguez and Jackson Dear added 2 points apiece.
Steward led the team on the boards with 11 rebounds, while Steward and Zapata had 2 assists each and Lozano came up with 2 steals.
