The Boerne High boys added to their district win streak Friday night when the Greyhounds defeated Canyon Lake, 60-28.
With Friday’s win, the BHS boys moved the win streak to 46 and looked to make it 47 Tuesday when they hosted Fredericksburg.
Boerne High is 9-0 in district and 26-5 overall.
The Greyhounds bookended last Friday’s game at Canyon Lake with strong first and fourth quarters.
Boerne was leading 21-10 after one and then closed it out with a 20-8 fourth quarter.
In between, Boerne won the second and third periods, 10-8 and 9-2.
Casen Hoegemeyer had a strong night and finished with 27 points on 9 of 15 shooting for 60 percent. Hoegemeyer was 4 for 7 from long range, 5 for 8 from 2-point range and 5 for 6 at the line.
Jaxon Baize netted 9 and got to the free-throw line 7 times and made 5 of them. Hank Hendrix scored 8 points and shot 80 percent from the field, Luke Fox tallied 7 points, Sam Holland chipped in with 5, Cash McPeak hit for 2 and Noah Patton and Julien Hartman made one free throw each.
Holland led the team on the board with 8 rebounds, Nic Hernandez, Fox and Hank Hendrix all dished out 3 assists, while Fox and Hank Hendrix both came up with 4 steals and Holland had a block.
