Chamber names business award winners at gala

BOERNE — The Greater Boerne Chamber of Commerce hosted it annual Awards Gala, presented by Bandera Electric Cooperative, Jan. 27 at The Cana Ballroom in Boerne.

Business leaders throughout the community attended the Emerald City-themed event and celebrated their successes from the past year.

A panel comprised of previous winners, Boerne chamber board members and members-at-large was tasked to select the winners from among hundreds of entrants. The winners in seven categories were announced and awards were given during the gala program.

Award winners are:

• 2023 Nonprofit of the Year: Kendall County Junior Livestock Association.

• 2023 Business of the Year (under 50 employees): Dog & Pony Grill.

• 2023 Business of the Year (over 50 employees): Ford of Boerne.

• 2023 Businessman of the Year: Shawn Lovorn, Lovorn Law Firm.

• 2023 Businesswoman of the Year: Sonia Aguillon, The GVTC Foundation.

• 2023 Chairman’s Award: Bryce Boddie, Hill Country Family Services.

• 2023 Ambassador of the Year: Jennifer Edwards, Realtor, Legacy Broker Group.

“We are so proud to recognize these outstanding members and their achievements over the past year,” Kim Blohm, president and CEO of the Boerne chamber, said.

“Our business community is made up of some really outstanding people and organizations, and the opportunity to recognize and celebrate that is so important,” Blohm added.

The Greater Boerne Chamber of Commerce, which currently represents approximately 1,075 members representing over 27,500 employees, was established in 1928 to promote and improve economic vitality through advocacy, education and connections of its members and community.
