The Boerne High girls soccer team continued to log some serious miles with their 10th straight match on the road Friday.
And of all the road trips, this one was the longest with a 3-plus hour drive to Laredo to take on Laredo Johnson.
BHS coach Jeremy Shannon said the trip was worth it after the Lady Hounds recorded the 6-1 win.
Boerne High stays unbeaten this year at 9-0-1 and the goal they gave up Friday was their first of the season.
Shannon was grateful to all the die-hards who made the drive to the border to watch them play.
“Thanks to the families that made the trip to support these amazing girls,” he said.
Boerne was scheduled to play at Cornerstone Monday, and after that will open district Feb. 6 at Fredericksburg.
Boerne’s six goals were scored by six players after the Lady Hounds moved the ball around the field well.
Anna Darling, Mahaley Merkens, Avery Ukeiley, Bella Pettet, Isabel Moreno and Kailey Stringfellow all tallied single goals.
Four of the goals were assisted after A’Marie Ramirez, Darling, Sadie Parker and Tommy Rand recorded one assist each.
