The Brady girls basketball team showed why they are undefeated in district play after they raced out to a 29-0 lead against the Comfort Deer on Tuesday to open the second round of district play.
Brady went on to double up the Deer, 66-33, and remain perfect in District 5-3A.
Comfort slips to 8-18 overall and 2-4 in league play. They traveled to Llano on Friday.
Brady was leading 29-0 in the first quarter but Comfort did have the final four points of the quarter to make it 29-4.
Comfort played much better after their slow start but couldn’t make up any ground. The Lady Bulldogs took the second quarter 13-12 and held a 42-16 lead at the break.
Brady doubled up the Deer in the third 18-9 to open up a 60-25 advantage going into the fourth.
Comfort closed it out by outscoring the Bulldogs in the final stanza, 8-6.
Katie Haffner had a strong game with 17 points, Jael Hernandez finished with 8 points, while Molly Gowan, Danielle Ruelas, Hannah Adams and Rachel Adams all tallied 2 points apiece.
Gowan grabbed 7 rebounds, Tindall Ahrens had 5 rebounds, Haffner came up with 4 steals, Hernandez recorded 3 steals and Rachel Adams dished out 3 assists.
