Brady played the Comfort boys basketball team tough — for a quarter — but after that it was all Bobcats as they went on a 53-22 run over the final three stanzas on its way to a 29-point win.
Comfort recorded the 64-35 victory after falling behind 13-11 at the end of the first quarter. The Cats improved to 17-9 overall and 3-1 in district. They traveled to Llano on Friday.
Comfort outscored Brady 22-8 in the second, 17-5 in the third and 14-9 in the fourth quarter.
The Bobcats forced 31 turnovers and scored 31 points off those turnovers. The Cats also finished with 38 points in the paint and grabbed 31 rebounds — 12 on the offensive end.
Comfort had four players in double digits after Jovani Zapata tallied 16 points, Jared Valadez netted 14, Jaydin Steward added 13 and Joel Lozano had 11.
Santos Hernandez scored 6, while Aidan Schwarz and Jackson Dear dropped in 2 apiece.
Steward grabbed 9 rebounds and had 6 steals, Zapata dished out 8 assists and Lozano recorded 4 steals.
