Both the Champion and Boerne High girls soccer teams played at the Governor’s Cup Tournament last weekend.
The Chargers and Greyhounds continue action this week.
Champion
The Lady Chargers played one match on each day of the tournament and dropped all three and weren’t able to score a goal at the event.
Champion is 1-5 overall and opened district play Tuesday at Wagner. They host Veterans Memorial Friday, 7:15 p.m.
The Lady Chargers opened last Thursday with a 2-0 loss to Plano East.
On Friday, Dallas Highland Park shut out the Chargers, 2-0 and then Champion played Coppell Saturday.
Coppell took Saturday’s match 3-0 to close out the tourney.
Boerne High
The Lady Hounds are still undefeated but not perfect after they went 2-0-1 at the tournament.
BHS still hasn’t given up a goal this year after they battled All Saints Episcopal to a 0-0 tie on the final day of the tourney last Saturday.
In Boerne’s other two matches, they recorded shutouts. They crushed Cornerstone Christian, 6-0, to open the tourney on Thursday.
BHS returned Friday and edged Kingwood Park, 1-0, in a big win.
The Lady Greyhounds are 7-0-1 overall and visited Kennedy Tuesday.
