• “The Emerald City” is the theme for the Greater Boerne Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Awards Gala, set for 6-10 p.m. at the Cana Ballroom, St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, 202 W. Kronkosky St. in Boerne. Awards include Businesses over 50 employees; and under 50, of the Year, Nonprofit of the Year, and Businessman and Businesswoman of the Year. • Winter Woodlands: Riparian Walk, from 9 a.m. to noon at Cibolo Nature Center, 140 City Park Road. Join a hike along the Cibolo riparian zone and examine practical land management and stewardship techniques in action, talk soil conservation and tree identification, and learn how to make a land management for your own land, big or small.
• Bluegrass Jam from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the AgriCultural Museum and Arts Center, 102 City Park Road, Boerne. Bring an instrument and play along or just come to listen to the bluegrass jams while exploring the exhibits and grounds of the Agri-Cultural Museum. Free admission; donations welcome.

• “One Pill Can Kill,” a presentation on the lethal dangers of fentanyl, is set for 6-7 p.m. at the Lobby Coffee Shop, 523 Seventh St. in Comfort. The Drug Free Comfort organization has teamed up with Comfort ISD, the Comfort Area Foundation, Hill Country Family Services, and the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office to allow former DEA special agent Rick Goodrich to discuss this dangerous drug and what folks who have relationships with young people ought to know. • The Boerne Concert Band presents “A Night on Broadway” at 7 p.m. in the Boerne High School auditorium. Free admission. Selections from popular movies and musicals will be featured. The Boerne Concert Band, directed by Larry Schmidt, is made up of musical members from all over the Texas Hill Country and includes middle and high school and college students, lifetime musicians, band directors and military veterans. • St. Mark Presbyterian Church is hosting an event from 6-7:30 p.m. with the San Antonio African American Community Archive and Museum, with Caira Spenrath as speaker. Spenrath will speak on the history of San Antonio’s annual MLK March, the nation’s largest march commemorating the memory and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Her presentation will be in the church sanctuary, 208 W.
