Incumbents lead the charge to file for office, as the cities of Boerne and Fair Oaks Ranch, along with the Boerne ISD, hold elections in May.
Boerne City Councilmen Ty Wolosin and Joseph Macaluso have filed for re-election to their seats, Wolosin in District 1 and Macaluso in District 5.
Neither has drawn an opponent as of noon Friday, and no candidate has filed in District 3, currently represented by Councilman Quinten Scott. City council members serve two-year terms.
Wolosin was appointed to a vacant Boerne City Council position in December 2018, was elected in 2020 and re-elected in 2022. Macaluso was elected in 2020 and re-elected in 2022 as well.
In Fair Oaks Ranch, both incumbents filed Jan. 17, the first day candidates could file for election.
Mayor Greg Maxton filed for re-election. He was first elected to a three-year term in 2021. Fair Oaks Ranch mayors are term-limited to two three-year terms in their lifetimes.
Place 1 Councilwoman Emily Stroup made known her intent to file and did so on Jan. 17. She was first elected to her three-year term in 2021.
The Boerne Independent School District has three seats up for election in May.
Board President Carlin Friar, District 1 representative, filed for re-election during this week. Friar currently is serving his third three-year term.
Other spots on the Boerne ISD ballot are District 2, served by Joe Tidwell, and District 3, where Jessica Davila serves. Neither had filed for re-election by noon Friday.
Filing remains open through Feb. 16. The election occurs May 4.
