Champion boys, BHS girls win soccer matches

Both the Boerne High girls and Boerne Champion boys soccer teams were on the road Tuesday and picked up wins to remain unbeaten this year.

Both were in action Friday as well.

Champion boys

The Champion boys visited Harlandale Memorial Stadium Tuesday and earned a 2-1 victory over the Indians.

Champion is 2-0 and was scheduled to host Madison Friday. They’ll also be home Tuesday to face Kennedy.

In Tuesday’s match Jones Ferguson and Grayson Moran tallied single goals, while Liam Willis assisted on the Ferguson goal and Ferguson returned the favor and assisted on the Moran goal.

Tanner Perkins was in goal for the Chargers all 80 minutes.

Boerne girls

The Lady Greyhounds were at Judson and blasted the Lady Rockets, 4-0, and have a record to match as they improved to 4-0 this year.

Boerne’s defense is playing well to start the season and hasn’t given up a goal in all four wins this season.

Anna Darling tallied 2 goals on Tuesday, while Mahaley Merkins and Kailey Stringfellow knocked in one goal apiece.

Avery Ukeiley and Sophia Namvar both tallied single assists in the match.

Kinsley Sawyer was in goal for 65 minutes and Kaitlyn Key was in goal for the final 15 minutes.
