The Boerne Champion boys and girls golf teams both captured first place at the Brandeis Toys for Tots Invitational held at the Fair Oaks Ranch courses before the Christmas break.
The boys played the Blackjack course and the girls played the Live Oak course.
Boys
The Chargers entered three teams and the Champion Navy took first overall at 11-over par.
Not only did the Champion Navy win the team title but the Navy team also had the individual winner after Phoenix Guerra finished first. Guerra shot a 70 for a 2-under par to take first. Chase Knight was 2-over par for a 74 to tie for sixth, Aidan Taylor was 4-over par at 76 to tie for 10th and Zach Franz finished with a 7-over 79 to tie for 20th, while Tristan Franz was also 7 over at 79.
Champion White combined for a 37-over par that tied them for 8th place and Champion Silver was 47-over par for 14th place in the field of 30 teams.
For Champion White, Declan McPhillips and Dylan Buckley were both 6-over par at 78, Cooper Relf finished at 8-over par with an 80 and Jack Thomas was 17-over par at 89. Also, Matthew Mendoza came in at 18 over with a 90.
For Champion Silver, Connor Runyan Nibling came in at 7-over par with a 79, Mason Nelson was +12 with an 84, Barrett Bouslog was one shot back at 13-over par at 85 and Cal Isley finished at 15-over par with an 87 in the field of 30 teams.
Girls
Champion Navy won the event with a combined 37-over par, while Champion White finished seventh at 74 over in the field of 19 teams.
For Champion Navy, Caroline Franz paced the Lady Chargers after she shot a 1-over 73 to tie for third.
Sage Langenberg was in with an 83 at 11 over to tie for 17th, Cate Johnson was one shot back at 84 with a 12 over to tie for 20th, Camryn Leslie was one shot behind Johnson at 13 over 85 to tie for 22, while Brooke Castillon was also in with an 85 to also tie for 22nd.
For Champion White, Ariana Chavez led the team with a 7-over 79 to tie for 8th, Kenlee Runyan Nibling shot an 83 for 11 over to tie for 17th, Marilyn Curd finished at 27 over for 61st and Sophia Mazzu was in at +29 to tie for 63rd.
