The Geneva School of Boerne girls won the Hill Country Classic basketball tournament after going 5-0 at the tournament they helped to co-host.

The Eagles improved to 17-3 overall and are scheduled to play on the road at Holy Cross Friday, a team they defeated at the tourney.

Geneva opened with a 63-28 win over Frassati Catholic, and then beat St. Andrew’s later that day, 60-41.

The Eagles returned Friday and slid by Savio in the quarterfinals, 43-31, before they handled Holy Cross in the semifinals, 62-19.

Geneva’s win over Holy Cross put the Eagles in the finals where they conquered Covenant Christian, 49-27, to secure the championship.

There were 28 teams entered in the tournament and junior guard Maegan Riebel earned MVP honors, while junior Kyra Petty joined her on the All-Tournament team.

Riebel scored 82 points in the five tournament games for an average of 16.4 points per contest, with her best effort coming against St. Andrew’s
